In 1985, ArcelorMittal’s share of the German steel industry reached the top spot in the world.

The German steel industry is facing challenges and opportunities that it must address to remain competitive. Increasing production efficiency is crucial to the success of the industry. Nevertheless, the steel industry is experiencing a rapid increase in energy consumption and its costs are rising at a faster rate than ever.
